Quick answers
Your lodge will normally be ready from 4pm, and departure is by 10am. If arriving earlier or leaving a little later would help, just ask—we’ll see what we can arrange and confirm with you beforehand.
There are normally two parking spaces for each lodge, with additional parking available within the grounds. Please contact us before arrival if you are bringing a particularly long vehicle or trailer so we can advise where it will fit best.
Bed linen is included and your beds are prepared for arrival. Towels can be provided, or you can bring your own; bringing your own reduces the booking total. Please bring your own cot linen if you can, as babies tend to settle better that way.
Electricity is not included in the lodge rental rate because use varies by season, party size and individual preference. Charging from the meter keeps the cost transparent and accurate: you pay only for the electricity your lodge uses, rather than an estimated average.
Your lodge has individually controlled electric panel heaters and an electric stove in the living area. It will be warm and comfortable before your first meter reading is taken.
When we welcome you, we will show you how the lodge works, answer your questions, provide a map with local guidance notes and record the opening meter reading on a simple form. Before departure, guests read the meter again and write down the final reading. The difference between the two readings is the number of units used. You can leave the payment in the honesty box in your lodge or pay by bank transfer after you return home.
The rate is 28p per unit from 1 February 2024 up to and including 31 January 2027, and 30p per unit from 1 February 2027. This is the same rate we pay, and we do not pass the daily standing charge on to guests.
If you would like to keep use lower, switching room heating off while you are out is the most effective step; the well-insulated lodges hold their temperature well. We also use LED lighting, modern televisions, up-to-date fridges, hobs and ovens, insulated hot-water heaters and solar lighting around the lodges to encourage lower energy use.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email us and we will be happy to talk it through.
Yes. All eight lodges welcome dogs, so you can choose the layout that suits your party. Our dog-friendly accommodation guide explains what to bring, the woodland walk and the practical guidance for staying with dogs.
Gamrie and Huntly, our Type B lodges, are on one level and have a spacious bathroom with an easy-access shower and separate bath. Every Tullochwood lodge is on one level once inside. Please contact us about your individual access needs before booking so we can help you choose confidently.
For an immediate emergency, call 999. Fire action information and representative evidence from Tullochwood’s fire-risk, electrical, PAT and Legionella records are available in the Safety & Licensing guide above. Complete required documents are also retained in the lodges.
